BEFORE:

This is what our bedroom looked like before we moved into our house 3 years ago. I did take the drapes down soon after we moved in and used the quilted window treatments I made for my last house. We had very wide and very short windows in our last house but the window treatments mostly worked until I made new drapes for our bedroom. I do not have any other before photos of the bedroom since I forgot to take them before painting the bedroom.

AFTER:

I painted the bedroom with Behr's Dark Pewter Eggshell paint and painted the trim with Valspar's Ultra White Semi-Gloss paint. My husband installed the silvery gray carpet that someone gave us years ago when they were changing their carpet. This carpet is still like new since it was in a formal living room that was hardly used. I made the drapes with Ivory jacquard home decor fabric and trimmed the drapes with Silver jacquard fabric since Jo-Ann's did not have enough yardage in the ivory to make drapes for both windows. I added some gorgeous burgundy gimp trim and hemmed my drapes with a decorative stitch done with burgundy thread. I lined the drapes with blackout lining and I love how dark I can make my room in the daytime!

We purchased gorgeous Platinum South Beach furniture from a local furniture store that had everything on sale for 50% Off or more! I also purchased a comforter set from JC Penneys that was also 50% Off with an additional 20% Off when you spent at least $100.00!

Every item on the dresser is vintage and purchase from friends on Etsy except the silk flowers! The dresser tray is a vintage Mid Century Chinese piece that was in bad shape with lots of patina and ugly spots. I spray painted it with silver metallic paint and now it looks gorgeous! My husband took apart our gorgeous hurricane lamps that were another vintage find on Etsy from a very good friend. Once he took apart the lamp, we were able to spray paint the discolored brass base with silver metallic paint. I also used acrylic silver metallic paint to paint the discolored wicks inside the lamps. Here is a close up of one of the lamps on a nightstand that comes with a night light (very handy):

The foot board on our bed and the dresser both came with mirrored pieces that run along the bottom of both pieces. I also loved the jewel toned handles:

We absolutely love how this room turned out and the gorgeous glamorous furniture! Next, we will be refinishing a chest of drawers that we purchased before our daughter was born 42 years ago. It will go in the corner where the chest of drawers is located in the first photo. My husband has to do some repairs and then we can start sanding. Once it is sanded, I will be painting it with gray and black chalk paint. We have already spray painted the handles with the same silver metallic paint that was used on the other vintage items. My husband is also going to install barn doors for his closet and for the opening to our room!
