Check soil moisture - most house plants need much less water during winter than during summer.

Also does the container drain? Never leave anything but aquatic plants sitting in water for more than brief periods - if you have been giving it a little water at a time for months without it draining off the water level may now have gotten high enough for the top to show effects of conditions where the roots are.

Stick your fingers in it, dump it out of the pot and visually inspect the soil held together by the roots - do whatever you have to to check the current soil moisture level.

If it's drying out more often that will be due either to seasonal conditions or the organic content of the potting medium having broken down too much for it to be able to hold much water anymore. If the plant is potted in a mixture of sand and organic matter it may now have become primarily sand.
