White originally. Then, after you live with that a while, if you decide you want more color in your kitchen, you could paint just the island base.

I vote for a different color island. I love them and it will add some color to the all white kitchen cabinets.

Would you consider a darker island- like black perhaps? I think that would look good with the brick and the Taj.

I think I would leave it alone for now and if you find you need it another color it can be done then. IMO the brick will be the star of the show and i don’t think you will need another.
