I've seen them in more humid climates growing through small trees. But mine tend to stay on the ground and not move (grow) much. I've never cut mine up but I'd expect them to be much the same as other vining Philodendrons.

i've rooted the tip of P. gloriosum easily and it's growing fine in line. i've planted it vertically, but after a few leaves it bend and started moving towards the pot rim. it is still growing like this with stem on the surface firmly rooted.

the ones in the ground usually creep about an inch underneath - that prolly keeps the roots moister.

i have cut other vining philo's and they often form 2 growing buds at the tip.

i am sure you'll have no problem cutting yours in 2.

Thanks for the comments. I’ve actually confirmed with the grower it’s ok to split in half. I’ve held off for now as it seems to be ‘filling’ itself in between the 2 end nodes.
