The more times I look at your pictures, the more delightful things I find! I love the ornamental oregano in the little pot. Is it ‘Kent Beauty’? The first rose is also incredibly beautiful. The clematis, verbena, gladiolus, and lilies are wonderful together. I read on Ingrid’s thread that you’re happy with your ‘Perdita’, and it does well in the heat. I have one myself that needs a spot. Would you recommend full sun? Might you have a photo of yours? Mine is still small. Loving these pictures, and can’t get enough of them! Lisa

Thanks to you all. Lola and Lisa the pink rose in the last photo is La Reine Victoria a bourbon rose. I grew it in England and loved it so much, I thought I would try it here. So far so good.

Krista You have a good eye. Yes the first rose is Royal Jubilee. I couldn't believe it when I found it in a local garden centre.

Lisa, the Origanum is O. rotundifolium Barbara Tingay. I do also have Kent Beauty in another pot. I will take a photo and post it. I will also look out photos of Perdita and post them.

My other thread which was something like "Testing with a miscellany 5th time of trying", or something along those lines, has completely disappeared. Someone was asking me a question about one of the photos. If that person puts their question here, I will try and answer it.

cedemas, I love Chania. I stayed there often until I settled down in the East of the island. Now it is quite a long journey, so I don't visit it so often.

Jin, I too love Colombian Climber. It is in the 6th photo down with Clematis Perle d'Azur.

Wow, my Penelope looks different. Yours looks so big but mine is young. It has not bloom at all but when it did it was so pink last time then fades to whitish.

Really, I thought that was another rose. Wow, I can't recognize the roses from to another YET. I was thinking that rose was Eden. Guess, it will take me a long time or never able to differentiate it.

Jin, you'd be surprised how soon all the different roses will fall into place in your mind. You went from one rose to 100 in a very short period of time, and you haven't had the opportunity yet to have it all sink in. Having a good rose book which talks about the different classes of the old roses and the cultivars that are in each class is really helpful, especially if there are accompanying pictures.

Daisy, next time you are in Chania, stop by the Glimidakis Bakery. They are my cousins.
