where are you ... whats the ambient weather the last few months .... what hosta is it.... how much sun is it in ... do you water your hosta?? ... any recollection of a hail storm ... is it just these few random leaves.. or all your hosta??

I will get a picture posted. No hail storms. In middle Tennessee, extremely humid and hot. This one receives more sun than any of the others. The other one doesn't have this problem. I have not watered regularly.

if you have 2 of the same .. and one thrives.. and one doesnt .... and all variables you can SEE are the same ...

then all you are left with is all the maple roots under the one that is starving for water ... lol ...

dig it up.. and find out whats going on underground ...

btw.. its called melting out.. when the white center of a hosta crisps out ...

I've attached a couple more pictures. Initially I was thinking that this was occurring primarily on the side with most sun however it is appearing all the way around, just further along on the sun side. I'm not really wanting to dig it up. Was hoping I could treat it chemically or naturally. Any suggestions?

This is a bacterial disease that spreads on the wind, not uncommon to white-centered hostas, and generally referred to as "melt-out." You can treat with a barrier chemical (copper fungicide works), or just pull off unsightly leaves and see how it recovers.
