It looks okay. Young, recently planted trees tend to look a little less attractive than they do when they are well established. Make sure you do not overwater if the drainage in the area is poor.

thanks! Its so hard to know if I am over watering-- even a little water pools up. That is why I went from 1.5 hours every three days to 45 mins every three days

I actually just upped this tree to 45 mins every two days, as the summer heat has arrived

I am hyper sensitive as the low quality one died on me over winter, and this was planted WAAAY later in the spring (end of May/early June) than ideal.

I have been getting my hands dirty checking in on it. The droopy leaves had me worried. Thanks for the replies!

The only issue I see is the dead nub above the white rings. Cut it just beyond that branch colllar or that swollen area.
