people are not into the top effect currently. there are many instructions on line for how to make top down, bottom up shutters. what i like about making your own is that you can line them and make them anyway you want. I always think curtains are great no matter what is under them.

havingfun, what do you mean by "the top effect"? Do you mean the valence or the top-down part of the shade?

As much as I initially liked the curtains, they are thirty years old. We are ready to update everything!
