I was lax in pruning. In winter 2017-18 I severely pruned. In 2018 I have so many vertical branches. (1) Should I prune during the growing season, now? (2) I am getting Japanese Beetles. I spray Bonide once each week, or so, but it is basically a contact spray.

Will Japanese Beetles result in my retirement from growing peach trees, or what should I do? And what about pruning more? My peach tree growth is prolific -- more so than my peaches.
