Marble - yes, it does require tender loving care. Most of my clients opt for it anyway if their house is on the traditional side. I am using quite a bit of Caesarstone in more contemporary homes (have this in my kitchen).
The light fixtures are from Circa Lighting. They're called Sloane Street shop lights. The finish is antique nickel. I'm not sure if they're still available.

The cabinets here are a pale grey, painted. The color has a smidge of a green to the grey.

Thank you for your kind words about my projects. I love getting up in the morning and heading out for another day of design work. Of course there's the usual paperwork, cranky plumbers, furniture scratches, delayed shipments, etc. BUT, all overshadowed by the fun part.

Design element I am most fond of here.... hmmm. That's a big question!! I'd say it's the way the kitchen was lightened up, freshened up. Cabinets were existing and were in a medium stained oak. The floor was a beige, bumpy tile, backsplash and countertops were a mucky, speckled granite. It was dismal, it was yucky!!!

Personal style. Also a big question!!! If I could, I'd have at least a couple of vacation houses and a much bigger pocket book. I'd love a 1920's isn California Spanish furnished in a simple, almost spartan way. A loft in NY City with lots of found objects and crazy, mixed up design elements would also suit me fine. An old shingled beach house - with clean and contemporary interiors, open and bright. My house is contemporary, but with lots of color.
