make sure you choose colors such that you dont end up with a snout on the front of your house....all one color on your side is key.

Crisp Romaine above is very pretty.... a pretty sage would be nice as well. So many options with a red home.

If you like the lighter green tone you have posted above... you might want to go a pinch more rich in tone such as SW Parakeet.

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate all of it. Yes, I do want to avoid the "Christmas" theme, which is partly why I chose a more spring green. And a richer one like the 'parakeet' suggested is nice. I wondered if, because the neighbours' house is a salmony red (definite orangey undertones), whether I need to choose a greyer green than the BM Pear or Parakeet which both seem to be yellowy, but I do want it to be lively so I am looking for just the right balance of intensity and not to yellow (also avoiding a ketchup/mustard house). Does anyone have a colour they like that is a bit greyer but still matches the intensity of the other half of this house? Thanks again!

So is the BM Pear Green you are considering for your front door or for your siding?

Denita- Yes, the pear green is an idea for the main siding colour, but looking for similar alternatives, possibly slightly less yellowish, but still want a lively colour if possible. Neutral might be okay, but definitely don't want a drab colour. Open to suggestions. I am unsure about the front door-will do a colour if I can find one that works with the neighbours and my side of the duplex. Thanks!

My heart is set on something with a lively tone, as cheerful houses make me happy, and there is about 7 months of snow here, during which light and colour make a big difference.

What about white? The front door can be any color you like.

I'd rather see houses like this the same on both sides, at least at the entry. Any chance you can get the same material your neighbors used.

I'm a fan of the charcoal. I think it goes nicely with the red.

If you want to go with color, check out this combo. I like how the red/orange, yellow and green, a little bit of purple, gray and blue work here. Notice the white door. Colorful is not for everyone, but I do like the execution of this one. It looks fun and well done IMO.

IMO duplexes painted two different colors always look tacky and disjointed they should be the same colors, windows a different colored door is okay . Get together with your neighbor and decide on a color scheme you can both live with.
