I think your hostas look great :-) ..wouldn't it be sad if you didn't have any shade to store them when it's hot and dry..it's so hot here (even in my shade!) that I took a fan outside today when I worked on some pots!..I'll post pics when it looks a bit better..

I'm glad that I planted small trees and bushes when I started gardening and did not know that there is such a thing like hosta addiction :-). Now I can hide a lot of small pots below them. It is not only the sun that brings problems. The strong wind dries out everything. I'm also thinking I should put the terracotta pots in plastic pots...they look nice but dry really fast.

The plants look beautiful Karin - not showing signs of stress. Hopefully you get rain soon.

It has been extremely hot here but rain arrived this afternoon. What a relief to get a downpour.

We had thunder and lightning yesterday and a little bit of rain. But it did not reach the roots. Only the leaves were wet like orchids being sprayed with the bottle and the humidity was around 80%. Was like living on an tropical island...

I love that first picture combination with the delicate geranium. It's wonderful contrast. Also like the pink hydrangea in that third shot. I recognize many of your companion plants. But what is the one with the Orange spiky flower (not the lantana, that one I know).

popmama, you surely mean the Scadoxus or Blutblume (translates blood flower). The flower gets round like a ball in a few days. I devided it last year into 4 parts and gave away three but it grows so quick...here's a picture from last year...
