Lately, it seems like my searches on the app have become more and more unreliable. If one types in “exterior Victorian trim” and searches photos, you see anything from a few Victorian examples to contemporary rustic, Craftsman, Mediterranean, modern farmhouse, and what can only be described as “McMansion”.

I don’t know if community tagging is disproportionate weighted in the algorithm or if there is an active curation strategy and taxonomy missing here, but with the number of posters growing, this site is becoming less easy to use when looking for ideas. Search results need to be credible and relevant in order for a content community to thrive in the current digital Information Age.

I sincerely hope that this will be addressed soon. I’ve relied on this site and app for more than five years as I renovate my house, and there is great stuff here. But content must be curated in order for it to be useful, especially nowadays, when there is just too much to have to sort through.
