Dining Room Help

Hi- I would like to redo my west facing dining room to make it less gold (ugh), but am having trouble with making a decision on a rug and other pieces. I am thinking of going with a look similar to this farmhouse design, minus the wood ceiling. Including photos of my dining room and connected entry below.

Your thoughts on: 1. Chairs (I have the Windsor chairs in my basement, but would probably need to put chair pads on them for my husband to be comfortable. 2. Paint color: thinking of going in a white like the pic but not sure. (?) 3. 9 x 12 rug: I'm having trouble finding a rug like the farmhouse pic that is kid-friendly, and budget friendly. Alternative options that would give me this texture/look, and would I be looking more gray/linen than the traditional beige? 3. Wall art: this is a very long wall that needs a lot of coverage. Best way to cover without being way busy??

I don't think changing the dining chairs are necessary at this point- unless you prefer the look of the Windsor chairs you have, especially since it sounds like you would have to spend money on getting dining chair seat cushions.

If you would like to paint the dining room white, I would suggest finding a white that matches your trim's white color, and then going a tad bit darker. Light grays would work well too.

For the rug, if you are looking to do more of a textured rug that's also kid friendly (especially in a dining area where food and drinks can spill easily), there are lots of indoor/outdoor rugs that would resemble what you're looking for. Plus, they are easier to maintain and clean than indoor-only rugs.

We do either a horizontally long artwork with a buffet/console table underneath or do a trio of mirrors for our clients. Either would look good! Plus, a buffet table may provide you with more storage space than the chest you have in the dining room currently, if needed.
