Would this sink logo bug you?

It’s more noticeable in person, but this Kohler sink logo is pretty crooked. And it’s located prominently so that you easily see it every time you glance at the sink. What do you think, would it bug you? Worth exchanging?

I'd exchange it. Kohler sinks are very expensive, it's your hard-earned money, so it should be perfect out of the box. And, once installed, you won't want to change it, so do it now.

    It would bug me

Exchange it. They are using your sink to advertise their business; the least they could do is make it look decent. Geez.

that would bug me, exchange it

    Yup, exchange asap.

Are any cast iron sinks even available at the moment? The factory fire had them out of available stock for months.

Oh, drat, Green Designs is right. I bet you could sell that sink online for a tidy profit in fact! You might be stuck with that logo after all.

GreenDesigns hit the nail on the head...you should make sure you can even replace it first before doing anything. The fire has most of their products backordered for 4 months or more. We were lucky to snag one of the few remaining models off Amazon before they sold out...and we had to settle for our 2nd color choice since the 1st choice was gone.

Slide a razor blade behind that thing.

It doesn’t bother me. I’d remove any of them. I’m not into designer labels of any variety.

A good discount would make me forget about it ;)

Is there any way to remove a stamped on name like this one?

    Just pull the thing off.

I wrote to Kohler asking how to remove it. It’s realllly on there, feels like it’s baked into the enamel if that’s possible. It would be a better sink without it. That logo person had ONE JOB bahaha.

It may have been sent out because of the fire and lack of stock. Report it and ask for a replacement when they become available.

As Joseph says you can scrape that sticker off with a razor blade, as I would do even if it was straight, why do you need the sticker on there?

Heat it up with a blow dryer first if it's stubborn...

I have angled printed Kohler labels on both my bathroom sinks. Bothered me when they were installed. Don't even notice them now.

Guess Kohler cant get their labels straight. My bath sinks have crooked printed Kohler labels as well.

I used to focus a lot on my Blanco sink label but then forgot about it. I always felt like it was too prominent. Thanks to this thread, I just tore off my sticker a minute ago finally. Came right off, no tools required. :0)

    That would bother me greatly.

Kohler has offered to send me a new logo free of charge. HA. I’ve decided to exchange it though and be done with it. If you’re curious, this is how Kohler said to remove the existing logo: “The logo is actually a sticker with very strong adhesive to make sure it stays in place for a long time. However, to remove the old one, we recommend using either olive oil or peanut butter, as the oils from either one will break down the adhesive and make it very easy to pull off. The peanut butter can be spread right on, however, a paper towel soaked in the oil and then placed over the sticker will work as well.”

    So there ya go.

Anna, save the method. Sounds like there's a good chance the label on the replacement will be crooked.

I'll bet I could grind that off and refinish the sink. Wouldn't be cheap.

Joseph, no thank you. If there isn't an easier way, I'll live with it. :)
I don't care for labels. Mine peeled right off with no problem. Just remove it.

I still don't understand why anyone wants to keep the sticker on there...is it some sort of status symbol? ...on a kitchen sink???

Opts to exchange sink due to a crooked logo Kohler offered to replace. SMH
  • 8 years ago

It must be an important feature of the sink for both Kohler and OP. Otherwise it seems like a lot of effort for a sticker that can be easily removed. Different strokes.

No, it would not bother me as I would just remove it. I would remove if it was straight though, too. The oil/PB thing works for labels of all kinds too, like stickers on your car etc (just make sure to use smooth PB so as not to scratch clear coat!)

So..... let’s say you attempt to remove a crooked sticker from a brand new sink and something goes wrong (Murphy’s Law). It’s not returnable at that point and you’re stuck with something worse than a crooked sticker. That’s fun. I’d rather just let Kohler mess with it. As for the exchanged sink, it’s perfect, straight label and all. (Maybe if Kohler gets enough returned sinks due to crooked labels, they’ll stop putting the stoopid sticker on there in the first place, HA).

Anna: If anyone here ruins a Kohler enameled sink with the razor blade I recommended, I will replace the sink personally at no charge.

Are logos suppose to be on the back of sinks ?

Kind of like an identification logo in a cabinet drawer not to be seen on front?

In most photos of kitchens the logo on an apron sink is not seen. Which looks attractive.

My sink came with a logo upside down - what the heck!?? These sinks are expensive . I guess they think we should not care since we finally have our sinks ( after 3 months mind you) .

I could have ordered another sink instead chose to wait on this one. I order to exchange i was told I would have to wait as long as it takes since I would not be put at top of priority! Unbelievable!!
