I don't like the way this system was configured at all. I would want to know if it's even a matched AHRI system. I doubt it. The AC condenser is a high end Infinity communicating model. The furnace is a mid range 80% eff non communicating model. I doubt an Infinity thermostat will make this mess better. Hard to believe an authorized Carrier dealer would have installed a system like this.

IMO

The Carrier Infinity Touch Screen thermostat is not directly compatible with the 58CTW furnace. Carrier may make an interface module that may make it work. It would still be a poor configuration in my opinion.

The thermostat should have been wired for 2-stage operation. This would at least have the furnace operate the stages from the thermostat and not the control board.

The furnace only has two fixed speeds. It limits the operation of the 24VNA9 condenser. You have spent a lot of money on an AC which is limited by the furnace.

If OP wants this sorted out, he could return furnace and replace with an Infinity model with Infinity controller. Or just the opposite, replace high end VS AC condenser with a Performance 16 or 17 AC condenser. Keep the Cor thermostat but definitely not wired for single stage, defeats the purpose.

IMO

The Performance AC was swapped out by Carrier for the VS19 because it was way too loud, it had a droning sound,(it was brand new). The VS19 is much quieter but would have liked the multiple stage options working

There are your choices or just live with the mess you have. Should have kept the Performance AC and you would have been just fine!
