I agree, but this is not news, we have been doing this for over 100 years.

The distillers grain mulch and crushed grass mulch they used (separately) increased soil temperatures throughout the growing season, that is unexpected. One possibly due to increased microbe activity, the other due to transmission of radiation.

I found the suggestion to remove the posting odd!
