New Eyes : Kitchen Size/Layout Help

Building a house and I'm in the early planning stages so anything goes. I can't decide if I need to extend the wall out to make the short side (7" 1' wall) bigger to make it workable.. We have tried several different layouts and can't decide. Working from the top of the plan down, I keep thinking I want the refrigerator, sink, stove, wall oven in that order. But will that make the stove too far from the refrigerator?

-Family of 2 that love to cook and bake.

-We love to entertain

-Minimum amount of upper cabinets that visually are possible.

- Drawers on most lower cabinets

- Lots of windows

- Large island with seating

-Small built-in for cook books and recipes

Kitchen appliances we plan on having:

30" wall oven

36" gas range

Range hood

refrigerator?

Large apron sink

dishwasher

prep sink (pantry)

deep freeze (pantry)

*Kitchen aid mixer, food processor, coffee maker, will be in pantry with sink.

* Room off kitchen is the Livingroom

Concerns are:

1. ) If we extend wall will it make too much dead space between kitchen and living room/dining room?

2.) If we don't extend size will there be enough room to lay the kitchen out in good order?

3.) sink in the island? would rather have it in front of a window.

Hoping another outlook will make me see things differently. All advice is welcome.

Thank you!
