It is not a tassel flower, it is a weed with an aster like flower that spreads hundreds of seeds all over. Don’t know the name tho

It is Emilia . Have you looked at images on line from herbaria or other reliable sources? Whether you call it tassel flower or a weed is irrelevant. I have identified the genus. Please explain why it cannot be Emilia ! What does not match? Flowers and leaves appear to match.

The foliage of Emilia looks like a lot of other plants in the sunflower family that most of us consider weeds. It's the beauty of the colorful flowers that has made this plant garden worthy. I have said before anyone growing Emilia should be careful not to mistake it for wild lettuce and pull it up. Your plant is Emilia.

I admit I had no idea what the name of that weed is. In my experience tassel flower is something with a fuller roundish bloom. Much more showy.

On my property here in central Florida this is a plant with a very minimal “bloom”and a VERY invasive nature due to the numerous seeds, all of which seem to germinate. And that is not a seasonal thing, but year around germination and growth.

So it is my recommendation to the OP, being in Florida also, to pull and destroy.
