Is that the finished product? You are just looking to change the color? It actually looks half finished to me, not ready for finish.

It is the finished product. We had to wrap this. I have no idea why our builder didn't use the beams to begin with so we wouldn't have to wrap them. What do you suggest to make it look more finished? We are going to add shutters.

The peak of that porch roof is about twice as high as it should be. Way out of proportion. And the wood does need color.

It is steep. We have an open loft.

The windows and front door look way too small for the scale of the house and the porch roof. The color is not the problem.

Your house is beautiful! Congratulations!! I think big shutters will look great and then paint the wood beams the same as the shutters to pull it all together.

I agree with the window size. I'm hoping shutters will help. It was intended to be a log house but we changed our minds last minute. The front porch just looks so unfinshed but I don't have a solution for it. The front porch is high but even with the rest of the house. We had to make it high because the loft is right behind it. It is nothing like we had imagined it.

You need to weight it down. Landscaping will help. Avoid a bunch of foundation shrubs.

I would add a beefy wood railing around porch. That would help ground the oversized porch roof. Stain dark for big look and paint that roofing superstructure to match wood railing stain. Add some large boulders to front landscaping to also help with scale.
