That is milkweed, Asclepias tuberosa, a very desirable wildflower loved by butterflies. It smells fantastic, too.

It is a milkweed but is Asclepias syriaca. A. tuberosa has orange flowers.

Windblown syriacas are popping up all over the place. Maybe it's natures way of trying to save the Monarch butterfly.
