Yes Sherry, I would be grateful to have any kind of caterpillar at this point too. I think some cabbage whites were laying eggs on my nasturtiums yesterday. I remember you from before, though I don't think we interacted. I'm very sorry for the loss of your loved ones. I'm making you a priority in my prayers. I have survived living with stage 4 colon cancer for 9 years, so I understand what you are going through. Life is great isn't it! I got a late start with my garden because I wasn't phisically able to do anything in early spring, but now I'm able to garden which makes me very happy. So great to have you back with us again. Thanks, Jay! I'm hearing about more friends and acquaintances who've survived cancer than I thought possible. I'm certainly not alone in this. 'Sure glad to hear you're still with us after stage 4 cancer - they've not put a stage number on mine, but it's totally local, no cancerous lymph nodes even those near the site, no cancer in the brain where my type reportedly usually spreads.

I plan on going back to the old country house soon, maybe I'll find a pipevine swallowtail chrysalis and bring it here, maybe the gulf frits are eating up the passionvines there, and I can bring some gulf frit cats here to chew up the P. incarnata growing wildly in my little raised bed. Maybe this side of Hattiesburg can regain the butterflies it lost from when it was woodlands. I'll certainly try to make that happen!

I've been living at my best friends house for a year and a half now. He's also my caretaker when I need it. We are cat people and have three adorable ones. My garden at my old place is overgrown with volunteers. The brick patio is now covered in plants. I need to clean it up. I went over there, and a multitude of bumblebees were buzzing around the partridge peas and viper's bugloss that's invaded the patio, so I thought one persons mess can be like heaven to a bumblebee, I'm leaving them until they finish blooming. I'm bringing some of my host and nectar plants to the new place. There is a pipevine over there I can bring, though I'm not sure if any pipevine swallowtails ever make it up here. I've tried growing passionvines, but they didn't do well here. Have a lot of violets though. I never see any Fratillaries here these days. Even in the past when all butterflies were more abundant, Fratillaries and Zebra Swallowtails were still rare sights.

These are some cool looking caterpillars. I have never had any caterpillars on Azelea. Off to Google if they are around here. Thank you for sharing!
