It reminds me of a sickly Calendula.

I'm thinking Calendula officinalis as well. This, like Zinnia being a sunflower family plant each "petal" is actually a separate floret. With the disc in the center consisting of separate florets also. And the "flowers" being therefore flower heads, rather than individual blooms.

Does the foliage gave a strong scent and feel slightly tacky to the touch? That would support Calendula.

give us a new pic when the flower opens .. and while you are at it .... a side pic.. with a clear view of the stem and leaves.. and maybe throw in a scale ...

is there a drain hole in that pot???
