Help! I really need help improving the curb appeal of my house. We'd like to put in a large porch that extends across the right side of my house. We'd put a dark brown shingled roof over it, re-shingling our existing roof to match, and have white wooden pillars as support. Maybe an arch over the doorway?? I'd love to put out some nice furniture and be able to sit out there with my family. We can't fully extend the porch all the way across because we have a beautiful, and very expensive (so we've been told) Japanese Maple tree right in front of the house. I'd love to hear your opinions about whether the house would look ok with the porch only extending across the right side of the house. Would it look lopsided or not in keeping with the traditional Georgian look of our home?? We've considered just a center porch with a portico as well.
