Hi all,

I am attempting to garden in SoCal, my new home. So far it's been a bit of a challenge because my backyard faces south and the plants (in ground and potted) have full sun from mid morning to sunset.

And, as you know, it (almost) never rains here...

However, there's a spot which I am trying to get plants for which faces west and gets only just over two hours of early afternoon sun.

One other thing: water here is very expensive. The plants I use must be very drought tolerant.

So, I came to you, Arizona gardeners, thinking that you may be able to help me find flowering plants that grow fast and need very little water. Is that even possible?

Why do I need fast growing plants? Because I am trying to hide a very ugly boundary wall I have to look at everyday.
