Help needed with kitchen table area!

I have a very long kitchen. We have a rectangular two toned wood table and chairs on an 8x10 rug. The French doors open up to our newly renovated screen porch and deck. I have no idea how to make this space look nicer. I want it to be more put together and stylish. Just bought the rug and not sure about it. Feel the space needs lighter tones since floors and cabinets are so dark. Suggestions for area, chandelier, windows, walls, rug, etc please?? Thanks!

Put a light linen or linen look set of didecdrapws on the window at the end of the room. Use larger light and impactful accessories instead of small. I think you can edit out the 4 black paintings on the window wall

Wow, that is a lot of clutter going on. I would definitely say no to the rug. It's too casual against those really pretty floors, it's too busy, and it looks messy. I also would not put that table there. The color of wood on the table top is fighting with your kitchen cabinets. You have too much dark going on ... dark cabinets, dark counter tops, dark floor. You need to paint your kitchen cabinets a light color. Then I would get a round glass table for that casual dining area (assuming you have a dining table in another room) and put the table on top of a more traditional round area rug. I would upgrade the lighting fixture over the table. I would remove the black pictures hanging on the walls. And then you need to seriously declutter that kitchen. Your mind is not going to think well in that space surrounded in that clutter.

Greenery....it adds so much to a room!

Is the table centered with the window? How about one chair on each side of the table instead of two on two sides.....worth trying?

You are correct; you've gone too dark with everything. The rug looks more like a sunroom rug to me. I like your cabinets but they aren't working with the flooring which has a lot of yellow in it on my screen. May be easier to paint the cabs to match your trim than to change the floor color. Are they new?

Unfortunately I’m stuck with the table. I’d love to paint the cabinets an antique white but not sure how much a project like that would cost to have done? I can return rug. Worried that going without the rug won’t give any separation to the long kitchen. And I apologize for the clutter- should’ve cleaned up before photographing. Any other rug suggestions (color-wise? Pattern or solid? Material?) and window treatment ideas? Definitely need new chandelier just not sure what color or shape? And walls?

I don't think the rug is bad and I like the idea of going with something lighter when everything else is dark. Would you consider a round rug. I am just thinking that everything is square (room, window, table, etc.) and maybe something round would switch it up.

your kitchen looks like mine on many days. We live in it, can't always pick it all up and things just happen.
