Sheer white curtains...not tied back...lower art over couch....glass/metal coffee table and if room, a small swivel chair. Lower TV, and paint walls all the same color....maybe cream or a nice white to brighten your room.

Blinds do not work. Solar white shades from theshadestore.com with white curtains on either side. I agree not pulled back. Unit below TV feels too small. Would be nice to have a longer one and more solid. I agree art should move down. Curtains on simple small stainless rod perhaps Gramercy with Tapon finial. Keep the lines clean to fit with what you have going. Good job & looks great for a DIY! Kudos!

Is there any reason your sofa isn't centered between the windows?

Thanks for the replies guys!!! The sofa is not in the middle right now because the contractor built the window ledges out pretty far and it seemed odd how far I had to pull the couch out. I could center it if that would look better?

For the tv console, would a large solid mirrored white go well? I made an impulse buy with the one we have there now and don’t care at all for it either :)

For the sheer curtains, one on each side of each window or just one pushed to the side on each window?

Try the sofa between the two windows. Let us see how that works.

I don't see a mirrored console for your room. That seems to have a different vibe.

Okay I pulled the couch down the room to make it center with the windows. This leaves a pretty big gap of space down by the small vase in the corner sticking out. It also seems to push the large end table out pretty far towards my kitchen (you can see the edge of my small dinette set in the one picture). Is this better with the couch being centered and the end table centered with the window? I can always swap end tables around or even get smaller narrower ones. Ugh this layout was poorly constructed huh lol!!!

Don't be so hard on your self. You've made great choices, you just need to add some finishing touches. You don't need to fill every space. The open gap is fine, every room needs some empty spots.

Definitely add curtain panels - two for each window, nice and full. Stock curtains come in two lengths, 84 and 95. Measure up from the floor to see which size will work. It is more attractive for your window treatments to be high, wide and full rather than short and skimpy.

You'll have to pull out your furniture a few more inches to accommodate the panels, that will be fine.

Here is a good graphic about hanging curtains, the only advice I don't like is the suggestion to pool your drapes.

Yes! To the stronger blue including a cocktail table. !! Yes to centering the sofa. Move the end table to the other side of the sofa if. needed. Remove the vase and the faux flowers. It does not add anything to your beautiful space.

I agree you need :

1. to center sofa between windows even if this means the sofa is away from the wall

2. add a coffee table in front of sofa

3. add a lamp on the second end table (does not have to match other lamp.)

4. look for another chair...as your room is narrow, look for something small-ish, maybe mid century modern

5. Lovely sheer or linen curtains as shown above will warm up the room

Your tv seems to be hung too high. I think it would be at a more comfortable height if it just sat on the stand rather than being hung.

I really like the blue coffee table and throw that celery girl added along with the deep blue pillow.

Have you tried placing your couch to face the television? I usually think of accent walls as being a focal point.

Try moving the side table with the lamp to the other end of the couch and try the flowers where the table is now. I like the curtains you were trying.

Adding some lights like fairy lights or strip lights can really make the whole room more vibrant. You can find some good quality LED lights from sunnest.

Your livingroom looks so cosy. But I would change the lighting and maybe the curtains.

As you can see the room is kind of oddly shaped. The other picture is the lead way into the kitchen. Right next to the window closest the kitchen and there are French doors with a blue grommet curtain over them. Should all curtains be hung same height then or it doesn’t matter because it’s a different space?
