    A cedar 2x4 is attached to the fence. A welded wire panel (hog or cattle panel) is attached to that and then another cedar 2x4 is put on top to sandwich it in. It is very sturdy. We want the panels away from the fence to the vine has room to grow in and out. You can get the welded wire panels at farm supply stores. We get ours from American Fence and Supply in League City Texas.
