COTTAGE GUEST BEDROOM DILEMA

Hi my friends, I need help choosing a colour for my bench and side table. This is an extremely small guest bedroom with no wiggle room to move any of the furniture. I need the bench for guests to place their things as there is no dressers to put their things down on. Need side table to put fan as ceiling too low for a fan.

So for paint colours for the furniture I was thinking a distressed chalk orange red for the bench and a distressed white for the side table or visa versa.

Any other amazing ideas my friends because you always come up with great ones!!!

In such a small space, I think it'd look too busy to bring in another bright color like the orange red you mention.

I would choose a pale blue/green that is in the background of the canvas over the bed. That would tie together the art, the darker blue/green bedpillows, and the bench and nightstand.

My second choice would be plain white to match the white bedframe, blanket, and blinds.

You've done a GREAT job with this room so far. It looks so cute! I'd think about a pale blue for the bench. You already have the cute orangey accent colors in the blanket and the clock......

But whatever you choose, kudos to the cute and comfy charming room. And it has a lot of personality too!

@ Mrs. S and @ lynnstrider any ideas for side table.

What do you think of this color blue with a peek of the red. Would it be too much. Should I just stick with the blue?

I think I would remove the bench. Having the bench there makes it difficult to change the linens. You could place baskets under the bed for personal items. Also placing wall hooks on the wall would allow for hanging items. Some drapes on the window to frame but maybe sheer. I would add a color of your rug on the bed as in a decorative pillow. If you paint the table I would do distressed white.

I am not a pro, not a pro, not a pro. But, I like the bench, and think it's functional for exactly the reason you stated first--you need a place to set stuff. I like your chippy paint ideas. try it! If it's not your favorite, you can paint over it. I like the idea of hooks above the bench, as well. But I'd put them in the far corner, so no one hits their head on them while they're making the bed.

I like your blue/red paint idea, too! And if it doesn't come out looking how you hope, you could go for a distressed blue & white, or just blue.

Can you walk around the bench? It is cute, but how do you get in and out of bed on the side next to the wall?

I like your idea of the aqua with a bit of red peeking through from underneath. I would do a simple white for the side table. Instead of hooks, you can add something like this to the wall. It opens up to hang clothes then folds down so they're not in the way.

Don't forget to add a wall sconce for reading!

Small small small super small room. Person by the wall has to crawl over other person even with bench there. Lol. Bench has no bearing on entering/exiting or moving around in room. I do have hooks which are placed on wall opposite painting. Bench has to be there to hold bags and heavy stuff so little critters don’t crawl in peoples bags on floor, it being a cottage and such.
