Those are some good photos for inspiration.. a few wks ago we were looking at a style with little windows along the top of a white door.

It is similar to the Cottage & Vine light blue door design in your link.
Eventually the windows will have to be updated but not this yr.

The general rule is that the front door is a unique colour, separate from house body or trim colours. In your case, a nice yellow would work well with colours on house now. House colours are neutral enough that front door could be any colour which stands out & says welcome!! Google Feng Shui front door colours for more info.

Thanks so much Sharon for the rules.. never knew that the front door could be any color. I read about colors being "welcoming" but thought that meant off beat modern colors. Eg: eggplant purple, gypsy red etc...

Personally a very deep red would set the house off set in a white frame to match windows and roof trims example Farrow and Ball rectory red or similar

Did you find something that would work? I am thinking something along these lines could work. Especially like the orange but I can't tell if it would work with the other colors that are already there. Hope this helps a little.
