Last fall, we had tall fescue sod professionally installed. I kept the grass high by mowing on the highest setting, and it looked great until now. I first noticed a bit of brown, when I accidentally scalped a small bit of the grass. The rest still looked good.
I have been on vacation for the last few weeks, but had a hose and sprinkler set on a timer to water the lawn 20 minutes every day. I came home and, as you can see, much of the grass has now turned brown. Not only is it brown, but it completely detaches from the soil. See video link below.
