Beautiful space!

There are many options for flooring here. While it can be a challenge to effectively coordinate wood finishes or woods with wood-look finishes, it can be done! The idea would be to go with a flooring which is either a complete contrast to the cedar ceiling- like tile or concrete- or something very similar to it in a wood flooring or wood-look tile. To keep the light, airy feel this space currently has, going with similar tones of the cedar ceiling or a bit lighter would be the way to go. Here are some photos for inspiration:

Keeping the majority of all other finishes and furnishings in the space fairly light will also help to keep the space feeling fresh and inviting.

We ended up doing a light color LVP from Cali Bamboo. We really like it, but part of me wishes we had done engineered wood.

You have kids and a dog. You made a good decision. The first time the baby dropped something hard and big and dented your wood floor, you would be wishing for LVP.

You can change the floor when your children are off to college. It looks great.
