Beautiful rug!

Assuming holiday decorations are in the traditional palette, this rug will likely clash. It would, however, look excellent with harvest decor!

Ivory, gold, and green are some of the best year-round colors to work with the majority of all holiday and seasonal decor changes. In efforts to make the desired rug work, an option would be to lay the more decorative rug over a neutral one such as a woven jute or solid wool rug to give you the option of rolling up the decorative rug whenever any seasonal decor competes. This way, you still have a rug to ground your palette of furnishings and you can feel less limited when decorating for the holidays.

Happy decorating!

Just wondering, what size would the rug be? The one shown seems to be an area rug, whereas in a loving room, even with a wood floor, you want the rug to be as large as possible, with the main furniture pieces placed on it. A rug that is too small, no matter how much you love it, will ruin the look of the room.

I have similar colors in my home and it NEVER occurred to me that decorations would clash! The holiday colors stand on their own and dominate when they are up, so the rest of the decor becomes background to me, for that couple of weeks.

It clashes with bright yellow marshmallow Easter peeps.

I LOVE the rug.! Seasonal decorations don't need to "go" with your furnishings. I've seen some who tried to use holiday decorations in colors to match their decor and it does not come off well. Get the rug and decorate as usual for the holidays.

I literally laughed out loud at Lucille's comment.

I agree the rug is gorgeous, and if you love it enough to steer you toward rustic instead of glam holiday decorating, go for it.
