Awesome pictures! They sell all sorts of stuff At Wal mart that isn't advisable for my location, but people buy them and plant them anyway. This guy planted like 6 redbuds and one on them has lived an is on its third or fourth summer and is starting to look pretty good.

Hello, I have grown miscanthus giganteus for a few years, though I usually winter protect it by placing a few bags of raked leaves on top of it before winter and then ensure I shovel snow over top in winter. Though usually about six feet tall, mine reached about 8 feet during a wet year (but never blooms due to our shorter growing season). This spring I thought mine had died but it came back, it's only about 4 feet tall this year and I assume that, due to last year's harsh winter, that part of the root system died.

Your redbud is coming along nice. The leaf shape reminds me of catalpa. Thanks for sharing your pics.

Thanks Glen. My miscanthus just gets lots of snow. The middle one hit 7ft this year, and the two others about 6ft. The middle one got way more thick though. Must be setup nicest. I really hope they get thicker every year though. Do yours?
