Need suggestions on rug color chair and chandelier. Table is very modern, however I'm not going for a modern look, more so clean updated and classic. I do love I florida.

For that size of dining room, you need a bigger chandelier. It would help if we knew what your tastes are before suggesting anything. You definitely need to add color to the room with a beautiful rug and art. Drapes would help as well.

Bev is so right. At this point it could almost pass as a surgical suite (I'm kidding of course). Definitely large wall art and a carpet and drapes will help a great deal.

Definitely a bigger chandelier. Although that one would look cute somewhere else, maybe painted white and put in a master bathroom or little girls room. I love repurposing decor items. You have a blank canvas. You said you don’t really like modern style, so what style do you like?

LIGHTING:

Since the table is quite heavy looking, I'd choose a "lighter" look rectangular chandelier.

CHAIRS:

I bought a dining table separate from the chairs. As a result, we had a year-long chair search, as I could not find any chairs that were the correct height or were comfortable. Concave chair backs are the most comfortable. This is the tufted Hayes chair from PB- choose your fabric?

(I could not be happier with my purchase) Less expensive upholstered chairs had cheap foam padding and we sank when sitting. We are tall ppl 6' & 6'4" too."

RUG:. What is the accent color for your home? Do you want all neutral? Any wall art planned?

thank you for all the advice. I'm not sure what to do that's why I wrote the post. Lol. I'm just trying to get ideas for rugs and colors. While I do like paint color (pale Oak ben Moore), I'm haveing a difficult time putting the rest together. Probably best I hire a professional lol. Thanks again!

Amanda, I understand that there are many decisions. You need to know what you want either doing this yourself or hiring someone, as you will pay for their time and effort trying to discover your style. Therefore, I strongly-suggest you discover your style. This does not mean going into a store, as the current trends will be on the floor display.

What colors do you love?

Want a neutral room? It enables you to change accent colors easily with the seasons. Neutral rooms aren't boring when greenery is added. In the pic below, the plants emphasize the accent color.

This is my favorite link to over 50 model homes. All have the upgrades and are beautifully designed. http://tours.stevenjamescollins.com

Make an idea book. Get a sense of what look you want to achieve. Lastly, don't be limited by stereotypical color schemes, e.g. Coastal look means blue. If you want that- there are many ways to achieve it without going all over blue.
