Windows Design Dilemma Bedroom

Too small windows

Hello friends, big problem with annoyingly small bedroom windows. I am renting so theres nothing to do about the windows themselves like remodeling but they just look so depressing. I am thinking that changing the shades will help but need suggestions please. Many sincere thanks!

I would change to white Roman shades or Venetian blinds but I would mount them halfway up the wall above the window to stretch the window taller. I would then mount drapes on both sides of each window mounted as high to the ceiling as possible.

Depressing because there is nothing in the room. Once you put a bed with a tall headboard between the windows and night tables under them it will look totally different.

As mentioned drapes mounted outside the window frame on both windows will give the illusion of the windows being larger and if you keep them closed even better.
