We have an in-ground pool and the water is really heating up. We got a pool cooler that fits into the return jets to try to cool it down but the return jet including the eyeball seem to be cemented in so we can't remove the mechanism to insert the PVC pipe for the cooler.

Could this be true? The pool is concrete shell covered with finish plaster aka Marcite.

Any suggestions? I don't want to break anything.
