There are loads of ways for tomatoes to die, and unless it is bred for some particular disease resistance, it isn't as if one variety is much more likely to perish. You might post a picture and describe symptoms. It might have been a seedling that happened to be infected.

Here's mine. I have one plant. The plant is healthy and the fruits are medium to large size (I expected grape/cherry size) so it's in one of the cherry beds. The shape is all over the place (plums, globes and oblates). Not what I was expecting. Color is variable as well. Fruits are juicy, sweet and the flavor is quite good. Productivity is good/excellent. I'll get at least 75 fruits off of it.

The photo isn't great and it is surrounded with squash plants on one side. It does have more room than this photo shows and the cage is 24" in diameter.

Shell - That's what I was thinking. It's the first time that I've ever had any type of wilt.

Over on TV they're talking about the segregation of Atomic Salad .... larger than the reported Atomic Grape. Seems pretty typical to me .... this year my plant threw plums, globes and large oblates. Size was all over the map. LOL.

I know this gardeners post is a few years old but I to have confusing problems with my BAG tomatos. It is looking possibly like a virus, only one fruit has been harvestable. people keep saying they need more water (it is dry season in FL) so I watered more, clipped off a bunch of leaves that were dying and now I go and check them and another fruit is ripening yet splitting like it has had too much water, soil is nearly dry 2 inches down, no new leaf growth and the indeterminate growing tip has died back. spiders about but I see nothing for them to be eating. two more plants that have not yet flowered appear mostly ok, but I wonder why no flowers at this point of their growth. Help Help!,
