Ceiling fans should blend in. To me it never looks right when they're a feature. So find one that blends in with the ceiling, and since most ceilings are white, a plain regular white one will work fine.

I like the Artemis fans. Clear is nice if you want it to disappear or they have a wood one that is really pretty. They’re quiet and push the air well. I have put the clear one in a few bedrooms and the wood in the living room. Pricey but totally worth it.

I would disagree that ceiling fans should blend in. White one's can look cheap and inexpensive. If you do get a wood one make sure you match the wood & the other fixtures in the room. For example if you have stainless steal knobs make sure the fan doesn't have gold in it. That way it looks cohesive.

Also make sure the blades are on the bigger side, that way they can move more air around the room - cooling the room down faster.

It's truly preference, but if you don't like the look I would make the fans not pop.

We've been very happy with our Minka Aire Concept II ceiling fans. They're very quiet and blend in nicely with the white ceilings. We live in the PNW and I hated the look of fans, but my husband loves their function so these were our compromise and I love them.
