great catches... the phal market has definitely become a buyers market

Thank you Taiwan and to a throw-away society! Too bad for the older US nurseries though, good varied choices seems to have really diminished over the last 10-15 years :( Oak Hill Gardens, Parkside Nursery, The Dowery, etc.. have all disappeared in the last 5-10 years, all used to be great orchid vendors with interesting and varied stock. I'm not sure what I'll do if Carter & Holmes give up the ship!

Don't get me wrong, phals are still my favorite (> 25), but it gets tough finding interesting other stuff as the years go on (and on and on....). There's only so many truly unique phals one can have and enjoy.

I like the splashy one! There was a time I didn't appreciate ones that didn't have symmetrical patterns, but I have a mini that has purples splashes like this and it's one of my favorites
