Plantaginea imposter?

last modified: 8 years ago

I bought this plant last year tagged as plantaginea, and these are the first blooms I've seen on it. Definitely not the huge pure white trumpets I was expecting! They aren't open yet, so no smell, but I am not hopeful considering how they look.

It might look like the pen is closer to the camera, but it's not - it's directly underneath the flower. The flower is about the same size as those of June and Halcyon.

What could it be? It does take sun well - June just behind it is getting bleached. Is it possible that it is still plantaginea, and these are just odd flowers on a young plant?
