Possibly Royal Standard a seedling of plantaginea.

Plantaginea also has pure white flowers... yours has a tinge if lavender.

I have plantaginea and it was new last year but bloomed then ... and the blooms were full size, white and very fragrant.

What were the clues to Honeybells? Leaves in teuth's photo looked more lance like than Plantagenia leaves.

Where did teuth buy this from - Walmart gets blamed for mis-tagging?

I agree with the previous - looks a lot like the 'Honeybells' I have in the garden. If it is, you should still get fragrant flowers, just not as large.

I guess mis-tagging happens. It is kind of a serious error. You want a certain hosta and get something else; and maybe you don't want that one! You can have one of my Plantigineas!!! I have too many. I actually planted them on the other side of my fence last year.

Now that I think about it Walmart has their labels affixed to the container. It is Home depot that has their labels stuck in the soil.

Old timers call them August lilies. Scary - the old timers are mostly gone now - that kind of means I am the old timer, doesn't it? Funny how that happens - first it was what happened to all the people my grandparents age? Then it was the people my parents age!

I saw my first August lily bloom bud today. Resurrection lilies are blooming. First time I ever seen them come up in July.

Don't forget Teuth, plantaginea has shiny leaves. That helps to identify it.

Nice looking plant! I'll try to remember for future shopping. But I have never seen another plant tagged plantaginea - I bought the only one I ever saw.

I probably could mail order...but if I'm going to do that I'd rather have Doubled Up, and will wait to see if Hosta Choice Gardens ever gets it back in stock.

I picked up Doubled Up this year, but between the frost and the deer it's not looking great, but it does have a bloom spike emerging now despite its troubles.
