Cutworm damage!

With the help I have received on the forum I was able to look for and find the cutworm on this plant. It was actually nestled between the base on the leaves. Believe it or not, this is a Kiwi Full Monty. It looked proper wel I bought it some years ago. But the leaves lost their pattern and it didn't flower for several years. So I moved it the a sunnier location hoping that would help. Then the leaves burned. So I moved it again this year. Then cutworms got to it. Now I dug it up again and can see it was planted too deep. My question now is before potting it, do I cut back the longest roots to even things out???
