The shutters are all the wrong size and IMO need to be removeda new front door in a color from the factory to avoid the paint peeling again. A walkway from the street to the front door and some new landscaping. As oft sage green for the siding and keep the white trim.

Better pre-paint prep. Hmmm, my photo looks maroon door. Ruthlessly, hardly my strong suit, revisit your landscape.

We painted the front door on our first house in 1997. It's been resold a few times, door is still the same blue paint, and it looks great. ( I know for sure it's not been repainted.)

When I had my house professionally painted 2 summers ago, we used the best paint on the market: Behr Marquee and so far, my front door looks like it did after they painted it red. I live in Ohio and we get a lot of sun on the front and back doors, which are both painted the same color. Anyway, you may want to check into either replacing the door or having the door sanded down and applying something else other than BM paint.

Looks like the sun is beating down on the front (is it a western exposure?) and you've got a storm door that's magnifying that heat. Agree with Patricia - I'd skip the shutters and try a soft, sage green color on the body.

Yes front door and shutters were painted Burgundy ( paint from BM )

The landscape is coming next, totally new as I live in Southern Ky and I do get tons of sun on the front door.

Used to have Mini Rose trees with yellow and then red flowers but neighbors kids broke the branches off them.

I have no suggestions on the peeling paint, but I would limb up that tree, install lower foundation plants, remove the shutters:

If your siding had more contrast with your trim, you wouldn't miss the shutters.

^This pic from grover says it all. It really makes your home. Agree with no shutters. Your home looks 100% better without shutters and with color.

Millwork around the front door is lost because there isn't enough color contrast with the siding.

If the siding is vinyl, paint may not be a good option...

I would remove the shutters on the brick portion and replace the shutters on the second floor with shorter, wider raised panel shutters. Raised panel because, IMO, better with the front door millwork. Louvered shutters just feel too informal.

Repainting the front door...better prep/ primer. Replace fixed glass storm door with one that can ventilate; or, apply reflective film to the interior side of the storm.

I would paint the bottom ( brick) half of the house the same color as the top . Then add some flowers or shrubs . And take another picture . I don't mind the shudders ..are they the right size ? Sometimes one need shudders ..I would not discard them too fast .

Shutters or no shutters isn’t the issue here. What your house needs is a landscape and hardscape ( especially the planters lining the walk ) overhaul. That’s what I would focus on.
