High Summer Blooms and a few issues.
Divine showing symptoms of being too dry in high heat. I had read some articles about less watering and it's not been successful with this Divine in my opinion.
here it was on June 20th. The furthest left inflo below matches the top left inflo in the above picture. You can see how the lack of water has impacted the richness of colors.
Gulfstream.
Penang Peach Inflos getting taller and taller. Eventually they will collapse under their own weight.
Magnum Opus Still going but slowing down. This one may be due for a soil replenishment and root pruning next spring.
JL Black Ruby. One of the better blooming dark reds. spicy scent.
Emerson's Pink Nova in hot temps (low 100s). Must have high temps to enjoy these blooms.
Hilo Beauty Seedling
Southern Cross starting second bloom cycle on the same branch. This is an attractive and solid cultivar but it's common looks just like many other JJ cultivars of the same generation have probably made Southern Cross rather obscure. It has good growth habits and consistent blooming year after year.

Magnum Opus is a great cultivar. It is probably one of the most fragrant cultivars and the branches have an attractive smooth green skin. I would call it a medium grower with the ability to be in full sun (Texas sun) provided there is enough water. I believe it is a seedling of Pink Pansy cultivated by Luc and Carol quite a few years ago. Cuttings seem easy to root. Here is a full image of M.O (square pot). You can see the nearly perfect graft Luc did.
2018 · More InfoGulfstream is a faster growing cultivar with a moderate plumeria scent. Its easy to bloom and once started will bloom all season. It has large deep green leaves and heat and humidity make its colors come out on 3-4" blooms. The blooms are fairly large but the petals reflex back as the flower ages. A few years ago I did a timelapse video of a gulfstream bloom opening. its posted on gardenweb somewhere. The original mother tree at the Gulfstream RV park in the FL Keys was lost to a bulldozer years ago (per Emerson Willis). Fortunately he had taken many cuttings and they were propagated. My Gulfstream was badly damaged by a severe storm 2 years ago so I pruned it back to restart shaping it. Here are a few pictures of the whole plant showing its growth pattern. All the cuttings rooted and the cut plant is already blooming.
