cabinet not flush with wall

We have an old house so our walls are not plumb and there is space between our new cabinets and the walls. Photo attached of the worst one.

We were out of town when our cabinets were being installed so I didn’t have a chance to ask our installer about this. I know he’ll be back to make adjustments and install the trim and toekicks but our countertops are being templates tomorrow. Is this something that needs to be taken care of before then or should I not worry about it now? How is this usually handled?

There should be shims there, that are screwed into for support. And underneath the cabinet as well. The cabinet should also be smaller. It should not come to the edge of the wall.

A live of scribe molding can cover the gap. But not with the cabinet extending past the wall edge.

There are shims behind and under, I’m assuming to level the cabinet. The cabinet does not come past the wall. It is just before the edge.

Why are they putting in new cabinets when you still have unfinished walls?

My GC had the walls finished and painted before he installed any cabinets.

Why didn't your GC float out that wall and make it level?

Scribe molding covers up a lot of sins.

If the shims are not screwed through, they are going to shift and be useless for support.

I’m sure this also has a lot to do with our floor being very uneven (old house). This particular cabinet had to be skimmed up inches to be level. The shims look screwed in to me. So is this something scribe molding will hide later?
