I got it figured out but the Search function doesn't always bring up the "harvest" option for me. That is annoying.

It automatically defaults to the forum you are in so no need for any "options".

Dave, this doesn't work for me either. I'm in the harvest forum, search "pears" and get pages of threads from gardening forums about pear trees. It does not restrict the search tot the forum I'm in. I was about to recommend this forum to a novice who is looking for info on canning pears, but since I can't figure out the search it wouldn't really be a helpful suggestion.

Just as with any search engine the more specific your search term the more relevant the results. Imagine what all you would get if you search "pears" on Google or Bing. ;-)

So you have to be more specific in your search terms.

Yes "pears" will pull up all sorts of posts from all over the site. It tells you everything you wanted to know - or didn't want to know - about "pears" or any post pears were even discussed in regardless of title.

But search terms like "canning pears", "preserving pears", "pear jam recipes', etc. - things relevant to the focus of the particular forum you are using - gets you Harvest forum posts.

Gin_Gin, I have found that I have to hover over the search box then a list of search locations show up that pertain to Harvest.... sometimes have to be fast or it disappears. It is annoying... but works after a few frustrating attempts.
