Jackie, you have beautiful roses. I always admired the range of humongous roses and collection you have. I truly enjoy your pics esp all of them but I still remember your sidewalks. WOW :)

Thanks, Jin. Right now my garden is mostly going dormant in the summer heat, but there are always some roses who did not get the memo, and are bursting into bloom.

SL looks much better in your garden than it did in mine, where it was vaguely mildewy. But our climates are very different, and also I had it in a morning-sun-afternoon-shade position. It may have wanted more sun. I have Leander planted in two positions, one full sun and one half day sun. The sun/shade one gets PM, while the other does not.

In any case, that is a gorgeous rose you have there!

This rose looks so delicate, as though the slightest bit of heat would be too much for it, but that's obviously not the case. I like the two-toned effect, which gives the blooms a luminous quality.

I was wrong about its classification - it is now classified as a tea rose, which makes more sense. HMF says it likes full sun, and does NOT like being pruned.
