I'd do a double over each sink. It concentrates the light over the sinks and is enough light for a 60" vanity.

I much prefer sconces. The light from above casts shadows on your face. Can you have the glass cut to accommodate the outlet for the sconce?

Do you have a picture of the actual bathroom? My personal preference would be 1 long fixture. Also, you don't have to use the mirror that comes with the set, maybe you could use that on a door as a "floor length" mirror. Just a thought.

Not to change the subject, but there's analternative vanity we like that has two smaller mirrors, which would allow us to go for the sconces. The problem is that the top is a white carerra marble and we don't think it will go with the floor/wall tile we're getting. The vanity with the big mirror comes with a plain white top, which we know won't conflict with the floor and wall tile.

If your vanity is next to a wall, you won't have room for a sconce unless it's a cylinder type of about 4" wide.

Lighting from the side isn't that big of a deal. If you really need such precise make-up application, get a hard-wired lighted magnifying mirror with an extension arm for the side wall.
