This is not the reason that I would reconsider the brand. Personally I was afraid to get any type of fireclay due to posts about damaged and crazed Rohl sinks as well. Some of those problems can be attributed to over tightening of the disposal. There are others who have never had a problem, but it all depends on your aversion to risk. I chose a Kohler Whitehaven because I felt more secure with cast iron, as my previous 20-year old sink was cast iron, and it held up very well.
