amazing how 3 plain green hostas improved the look in this area (more obvious in person knowing the before and after) see an unplanted one in the bin?..one is flattened out..some had bent stems where a heavy branch landed..they should be prettier next year..I planted 2 by the edging..along with an astilbe and 2 marble heucheras (rock circle squirrel barriers will come out eventually)..husband set chunky entrance rocks (according to my supervision ha) that will be great hose guides..those hellebores IN the path are hiding some stone edging..meaning to move them for 6 - 8?? years..I'm very slow..but I AM neat..

I really like the look from your last picture! It is not easy to take photos in a woodland garden, you practically have never enough light like I do in my garden. I only tak epics early in the morning or late in the evening when the sun is standing low.

Are those turquoise pots waiting for more EEs?

my poor husband says "you're 10 steps ahead of me"..multiple unfinished projects..my mind is faster than my hands..I loved those pots and got them after a lot of EEs were in the ground..a few EEs that lean might (?) make it into pots this year but I doubt it..if not I'm prepared for next year!..

newhostalady..we HAVE worked hard..and yet we're not finished!..if I try to hurry I don't enjoy it..

They look very good! I like how you're using your large space to put in multiples of one kind. I'm such a collector, I like to get one of each, but I always like seeing a big area with the same hostas repeated.

Your last pic gives me the feeling of an inviting walk into a forest where you discover a hosta wonderland. As everything fills in it will get better and better.

Adding: You must be cooler than we are. I can't wait to start planting things again, but it's too darn hot for the plants right now.

You really are very similar to me Nicholsworth. I don't want to rush to finish any gardening project I am doing. I want to enjoy my time and do it right!

sandyslopes..thanks!..I have multiples of just about everything..some were gifts - "you have space want these?"..or I got a deal and bought more than one..it's always cooler at home than everywhere else I go..not the best time to plant but I'm behind and need to keep going..that pic with my turquoise pots is my view from the kitchen..

I tried to plant them back a bit from the stones so they won't be hanging over in the path..but now I'm not sure they're back far enough Lol..

I have one in the sunniest place and it looks great despite the heat and the geranium brings colour into the picture :-)

that's a nice hosta Karin..I like the color..mine are darker than yours..but mine have done well considering they were living in a compost bin!..
